Upsetting events are imprinted on the body, brain and spirit. At Cutting Edge Counseling we work holistically, attending to the impact on the physiological as well as the psychological. Our interest is in using whatever tools we can to help our clients speed their healing, leave behind bad memories and restore their bodies and spirits to balance.
We do heartful, relational talk therapy and we also use the most effective cutting edge tools we have found. These tools draw from neuroscience, psychophysiology and the study of animal behavior in the wild.
EMDR (or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is probably the best known. We use it especially for painful single-incident events.
Somatic Experiencing (or SE) is a gentle mind & body form of psychotherapy that we use especially for long-term stressful situations.
EEG Neurofeedback works on the biological level of brain functioning, retraining your brain to work more effectively.
